Back to the grind

It has been a while since I posted last, mainly due to my return to work and not really having the time. This past weekend was a lot of fun. Saturday Brian and I dropped Riley off at my moms and headed out for the day. We did all of our Christmas shopping and stopped for Chipotle (yummy) before coming home. It took us most of the day but that's only because I am probably the most indecisive person you will meet and I spent about 2 hours in Hobby Lobby alone, lol.

Sunday we met up with the Peterfords and went to church. The kids were sleeping so we decided to brave it and keep them in the service with us. They both were so well behaved the whole time. After church we headed off to get santa pictures taken at the mall. They turned out so cute and neither kid screamed (that'll come in next year).

I went back to work yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, I did start to cry when I left her at Kelly's house but I knew she was in good hands. Honestly, we were so busy at work I didn't have time to dwell on it which was probably a good thing. I think she had a good time playing with Brady at Kelly's house because she was in such a good mood all night and tuckered out about 8 o'clock.

I can't believe how fast she is growing these past couple of weeks. Every time I look at her I am just amazed. She absolutely loves her swing now which makes me very happy because it helps me be able to get ready in the mornings. It's sad to admit that she is definitley out of the "newborn" phase and is now just a baby. I know that may sound strange but there's just a complete difference...she is much more alert and playful now and I can see the look in her eyes when she is trying to figure things out. That complete innocence that they have as newborns only lasts for so little time. I can't wait to see every part of her little personality come to life.

I'm so glad that getting back to work went okay for you. The swings are amazing right? Kaleb is in love with his now. I was going through Kaleb's pictures yesterday of when he was first born. I know exactly what you mean by "out of the newborn phase." They were so tiny and now they are growing so fast! I can't wait to watch them get big together. I'll send you that stuff tonight- can't wait to see you guys this weekend for the first annual Shankford-Peterford Christmas! :)
